Feng Shui: Move Bed, Sleep Well

Having trouble sleeping? Try rearranging your bedroom with feng shui!

Feng shui, translated as “wind and water,” is the study of the arrangement of your environment to enhance the quality and intents of your life. Sleep is of utmost importance to one’s quality and perception of life, so here are a few important theories of feng shui regarding sleep.

The direction in which your head lies while sleeping matters and can do wonders to balance any issues you might be experiencing. As a general rule, it is best to sleep with your head pointing north as this can strengthen your health and vitality. However, it’s not always possible, nor is it always what your system needs. Sleeping with your head pointing in the following directions offers these benefits:

  • South: enhances intuition and initiates dream and memory recall
  • West: slows life down and reduces life stresses that are causing restlessness or insomnia
  • East: speeds life up, lifting sluggishness and depression

When you sleep on the northwest, northeast, southeast, or southwest, it will blend the energies of the two directions. For example, sleeping with your head pointing northwest will strengthen your physical health and slow life down, and sleeping at the southeast will energize life and increase intuition and dream recall.

Have fun moving furniture!
