Dr. Julie McCormick
Acupuncturist and Herbalist, L.Ac., DAHM, Dipl. OM, (FABORM)
“I came to Chinese medicine through a deeply personal experience, and have gone on to see how this seemingly simple form of treatment can create profound healing. I am so grateful to have found my calling, and feel it is my mission to share this medicine with my community.”
Julie is the founder of Selby Acupuncture. She is licensed by the State of Minnesota Medical Board, hold a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine from Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts and a Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the American Academy of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Julie is board certified in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), is a Fellow of the American Acupuncture and TCM Board of Reproductive Medicine (ABORM), and is a member of both the American Society of Acupuncturists (ASA), the Minnesota Acupuncture Association (MAA).
Julie specializes in working with people facing complex or chronic health concerns, including fertility and reproductive health, cancer support, pain, hormonal health, and stress-related conditions, as well as those who simply feel “stuck” and want to feel like themselves again. Every treatment is individualized: some visits focus on symptom relief, others on restoring resilience, improving energy, supporting emotional well-being, or helping the body recover after years of chronic stress.
To make space for deeper work, Julie offers both traditional acupuncture visits and Root & Restore, a comprehensive 60-minute Chinese medicine visit that integrates acupuncture with other modalities of Chinese medicine.
I founded Selby Acupuncture in 2007 hoping to create the kind of clinic I wished existed, a place where patients feel heard, cared for, and empowered to participate in their own healing. Over nearly two decades I’ve cared for thousands of patients and continue to be inspired by the capacity of the human body to heal when given the right support. It’s a privilege to share this medicine with our community.
While not in the clinic, I enjoy studying and learning about Chinese medicine (really, I do!), spending time with my husband and two sweet children, and getting into the woods as often as I can.
A note on scheduling and payment: I see patients on a self-pay basis and don’t bill medical insurance. Payment is handled at the time of your visit, and I’m glad to provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement. If you have questions about cost or what to expect, please reach out before booking. I’m always happy to help you plan.
