Lucy Kervin
Acupuncturist, LAc
“I became an acupuncturist because it was so helpful in the treatment of my own chronic pain that I had to learn more about it. I love hearing from patients how much better they feel after a treatment and that acupuncture is helping them live life with more joy and ease. I love what I do!”
Lucy holds a master’s degree in Acupuncture having graduated summa cum laude from Northwestern Health Sciences University in 2012. She is licensed by the State of Minnesota Medical Board and is board certified in acupuncture and Chinese medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Minnesota in 2004 and spent several years teaching English in Japan where she first became interested in Eastern medicine and philosophy.
Lucy has special interest in the treatment of acute and chronic pain, post-concussion syndrome, migraine headaches, sports injuries, side effects related to cancer treatment, stress and anxiety, digestive complaints and reproductive health concerns. Among her trainings and certificates are Integrative Medicine, Western herbalism, Sports Medicine Acupuncture, Integrative Oncology and Advanced Training with The Center for Mind Body Medicine.
Lucy is passionate about an integrative approach to healing having worked for over 9 years within the Integrative Health departments at Allina Health and Hennepin Healthcare. She collaborates with each patient to develop a personalized treatment plan and supports her patients by educating them on self-care tools so that they can feel more empowered. One of her core values is access to care and Lucy spent the first part of her career offering low-cost acupuncture in a community acupuncture setting and several months in Costa Rica and Nepal working in free clinics. Lucy continues to volunteer with Acupuncturists Without Borders supporting communities impacted by trauma.
“I believe each of us has the capacity to heal and that acupuncture is a safe and gentle way to tap into that innate healing potential. When I’m not working, I love reading and writing, learning more about my Celtic and Nordic cultural roots and getting outdoors in the woods or my garden.”
