Kathy, Katie and Lauren have all been through additional education specifically aimed at improving the look and health of your skin. Facial rejuvenation acupuncture has been used for centuries and is deeply rooted in Chinese Medicine. This style of acupuncture amplifies your natural beauty, nourishing overall skin health and decreasing severity of skin conditions. Facial acupuncture is a type of acupuncture that’s specifically designed to improve the appearance and health of the skin.
If you’re thinking about trying facial acupuncture, here’s what you need to know:
What to expect
Your first appointment will likely last about an hour to 90 minutes. It starts by your acupuncturist talking with you about your goals for the treatment, a brief medical history and any current health conditions. Then they examine your face and determine a treatment plan, including how many treatments may benefit you the most and product recommendations.
The needles used in facial acupuncture are very thin and are inserted just under the skin. This will stimulate collagen and elastin production by creating a microtrauma to the tissue. You may feel a slight pinch when the needles are inserted, but most people find the treatment to be relatively painless.
A typical full treatment course is five to ten treatments, spaced 1 week apart, to see your best results.
What are the benefits?
Facial acupuncture offers a number of benefits, including:
- Reducing wrinkles and fine lines
- Improving skin tone and texture
- Relieving puffiness
- Boosting collagen production
- Reducing stress and anxiety
Is it safe?
Facial acupuncture is safe when performed by a qualified practitioner. However, as with any medical treatment, there are some potential risks, with the most common being bruising.
Additional techniques used?
Along with acupuncture, we use LED light therapy during your treatment to assist in the treatment goals. LED light therapy uses different wavelengths or colors of light to penetrate the skin. This type of light therapy has been shown to reduce mild-moderate acne, boost collagen production, speed wound healing, and reduce inflammation.
A truly holistic treatment, facial acupuncture benefits the whole body while it rejuvenates the skin. You will likely see increased energy and improved sleep, and you may even notice that you’re thinking a bit more clearly, and able to handle that stress a little bit better. The process of facial acupuncture is relaxing, giving you a deep rest, and the benefits build over time.
We’re excited to offer our acupuncture facial rejuvenation special during the month of May. If you are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity, Book your appointment today!
