Speaking of colds, It’s getting colder out there – here is a quick tip for preventing colds.

It seems like everyone is catching a cold or flu lately.  Did you know? Keeping your neck and shoulders warm aligns with age-old Chinese medicine wisdom. Why? These areas house key acupressure points linked to your immune system, making them vulnerable to the elements. So, bundle up! A simple scarf or sweater could help keep your “defensive qi” strong and your body resilient during chilly times.  Honestly, even though it seems weird, it works!

Checking Insurance Coverage

Medical insurance coverage may be changing with the beginning of the new year. Understanding your acupuncture benefits can be tricky so know that we are here to help! While we always encourage you to call your insurer for more information, please let the front desk staff know if you would like assistance interpreting your plan’s acupuncture benefits.

Please note: While many plans do cover acupuncture, they may have limitations on the conditions they will accept in a claim. It is always smart to ask if your plan excludes treatment of any specific symptom or condition.

As a reminder, we can bill the following insurers: HealthPartners, Cigna, UCare, PreferredOne, MA, and MNCare, as well as workers’ compensation and auto accident insurers.   If your insurer is not listed, you may still be able to receive reimbursement for your visits. Check with your insurance company to find out whether you are eligible for out of network acupuncture benefits.
